How to Turn off Firefox Go Button

If you always press "Enter" after entering a URL into your address bar, you may want to consider removing the "Go" button next to it. Removing the "Go" button from Firefox results in a less cluttered Firefox toolbar and a bigger address bar with which to work. The “Go” button in Firefox is rarely used and takes up space on the screen, although not all that much. If you want, you can easily disable it to give your address bar more room.
Notice the little green useless button on the right side.

Steps to Follow

  • Just type in about:config into the address bar,
  • Filter by the value: browser.urlbar.hideGoButton

Automatically Clear Download History In Firefox

One thing that annoys me about Firefox is when the Download window pops up and shows all of the past downloads. This feature may come in handy for some and must be an appreciated feature as it allows you to search them, but I typically remember what I download, when I downloaded it, and why I downloaded it.  So, for me it is more of a nuisance than a privacy concern.  However, if you have a shared computer or laptop, privacy and security may very well be the main concern.  Either way, changing a couple settings can certainly help.

The internet is full of all sorts of things children should not be looking at. As a parent, it is your responsibility to prevent your child from reading or seeing things you do not want them viewing. If you use Mozilla Firefox, setting Firefox parental controls is the best way to control what your child can access online. Here's how to set Firefox parental controls.
